The organization does many humanitarian
deeds, including raising scholarships funding for underprivileged youths to
attend school, helping those stricken with serious illnesses, including
sickle-cell anemia, and many other wonderful deeds throughout the Caribbean
community.
The 9th Annual Panamanian Mother's Day Award
Dinner Dance event was wonderful. We learned all
about the unique mission of PAJACAM, and unique it is, for its people are
being called upon to respond to a new agenda in this new millennium.
It is imperative that these people use every last ounce of energy in them,
and use it in new and creative ways in order to partner up with those with
far fewer resources.
We heard a warm welcome by Lilias
Edwards-Douglas, Vice President of PAJACAM, followed by the invocation,
which was given by Bishop Eric Garnes.
We then heard from the Master of Ceremony,
Mr. Earl Williams. Closing remarks were given by the PAJACAM
President, Selwin D. King.
