Nancy Bennett has
over twenty years of experience with a range of industries and companies in
learning, organizational change, marketing and new business development.
She is currently the General Director of Global Learning & Performance
Management for the General Motors University responsible for a $40 million
learning budget that supports learning and development for GM’s salaried
employees. She also leads GM’s global performance management process. Nancy
was previously Director of Global Change Management responsible for the
design and implementation of GoFast! and Leading Change.
Nancy began her
career with GM in 1987 as a Marketing Manager for the Buick Motor Division.
In 1992, she joined the advertising agency, DMB&B, as Vice President of
Strategic Planning for the Cadillac account and in 1993 was appointed Vice
President of Global Market Planning for McCann-Erickson. In 1994, she
returned to GM as Pontiac’s Director of National Advertising and
Relationship Marketing and, in 1996, was selected to create the John G.
Smale Brand Management College launching a 20-course curriculum in 9 months.
In 1998, she was named Director of New Business Development for OnStar where
she was responsible for obtaining approval and investment to factory install
OnStar systems on GM vehicles leading to an over 3000% increase in OnStar’s
subscriber base between 1998 and 2000.
Prior to joining
GM, Nancy held a variety of marketing and new business venture positions
with Corning, Inc. in Corning, New York; worked as a research analyst for
Booz Allen & Hamilton in Bethesda, Maryland. and served as a research
associate for Heidrick & Struggles, an executive search firm, in Los
Angeles, California.
Nancy holds a
Master’s degree in Business Administration from Dartmouth College’s Tuck
School of Business and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of New
Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
